Your Preparation for the Sacrament

One important thing that you can do each week is to partake of the Sacrament. This allows you to renew your baptismal covenants. It is a time for self-reflection and chance for you to make sure you are staying on the correct path. It is important that you make it a priority to regularly partake of the Sacrament. You should not allow other things to get in the way of doing so.

You may want to take time either Saturday night or Sunday morning to prepare yourself to take the Sacrament. One way that you could do this is to spend time reading the Sacrament prayers and pondering on your actions of the past week before you say your evening or morning prayer. You should do this at a time when you will not be distracted by outside influences.

You can also help yourself to focus on the significance during the Sacrament by rereading the Sacrament prayers or by reading a few of the Sacrament prayers. At least some of the time should be spent thinking about your personal repentance. It can be difficult to do this with small children. If this is the case, be sure to prepare yourself beforehand.

It is important to express your gratitude for the Savior's Atonement. We are only able to return to live with our Heavenly Father through the power of the Atonement. You can express your gratitude throughout the week, but you should definitely set aside extra time each week to do this. As you contemplate the things that Christ suffered for each one of us, and the blessings that are available to us as a result, it can help you to more fully live up to your baptismal covenants.

This week take the time to prepare yourself for the Sacrament. You can spend a little extra time Sunday morning helping your children to prepare as well. You may also want to plan a lesson the importance of the Sacrament.
