In his talk "Faith and the Oath and the Covenant of the Priesthood" President Henry B Eyring is speaking to the priesthood members of the church. Resident Eyring opens his talk by speaking about the importance of the priesthood and the covenants that come with holding the Priesthood. He points out that main blessing from the priesthood is eternal life, and the chance to be with our family for eternity.

President Eyring warns against choosing not to accept the priesthood or from choosing not to live worthily of it, once you have received the priesthood. He points out the receiving the priesthood means that God has chosen you because he knows that you have the strength to live up to its covenants. The Lord has also promised to help you to live up to your priesthood covenants. President Eyring shares example of a mission president who received strength to continue to serve each day, though he was exhausted and worried at the end of each day.

President Eyring then focuses on the blessings that the family receives from the priesthood. He points out that by striving to live worthy of the Priesthood, it helps you to remain pure so that you can be married in the temple. Additionally it helps you to develop charity and love for others, which can help you in your family. President Eyring then encourages the men of the church to study the gospel so that they will be able to teach it to others.

President Eyring ends his talk by bearing his testimony of the gospel and the blessings that the priesthood can have in your life. He reminds us of the promise made to those who serve God throughout their lives. He reminds us of the honor it is to have the priesthood in our lives.

This is a wonderful talk, and though I am not a priesthood holder, I have been blessed numerous times by others who hold the priesthood. I am grateful for my eternal family, and for the joy that it brings to my life. I hope that you will take the time to read and ponder this talk.
