Did you know that the visiting teaching guidelines changed a bit with the new leadership handbook that was written not too long ago? My Mom was recently visiting me, and she told me about some changes that had been made. Our Visiting Teaching Message for the month of April is entitled, “Marriage between a Man and a Woman is Ordained of God.” We first read the scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants 49:16-17 which reminds us that husbands and wives should be one flesh, that the earth might answer the end of its creation. We then hear from Sister Julie B. Beck, who says that we believe in forming eternal families. Our visiting teaching message for the month of January is entitled, “Jesus Christ Taught the Purpose of Life on Earth.” Through the quotes of President Spencer W. Kimball, President Ezra Taft Benson, and Julie B. Beck, we learn more about this. From Spencer W. At a recent stake Relief Society training session, I learned something about home and visiting teaching that I had never heard before. In my ten years of visiting sisters in the ward, I generally followed the message published in the Ensign.
