A Christmas Party for $40

For those of you who were reading about my progress in planning our ward Christmas party, I must give an update! It was actually a huge success. So much so that I’m hoping they don’t think I should be in charge of this every year. I have to admit that it added a lot of stress to my life during the Christmas season, which is already stressful enough as it is. So, I think I might have to pass if they ask me next year. The decor was the best part, I think. My Bishop originally told me that I … Continue reading

The Service Struggle

As a missionary, I remember how wonderful of a feeling it was to constantly be in the service of my fellow man. I was out there preaching the Gospel, and sharing the most important gift with people that they could possibly receive. The Gospel of Jesus Christ. So many times, people look back on their missions as the most spiritual times in their lives, and I am sure it is because of the constant service that missionaries are providing around the world. Making time for service in my life is very difficult. I am a stay at home Mom to … Continue reading

The Ward Christmas Party- An Idea

For some reason, the Bishop thinks I should be the one to head up the ward Christmas party this year. Why? I’m not sure, but I guess I should be happy that he has the confidence in me to do it. Our Prophet Quotes Mother Theresa

Recently, I went to the 2010 General Relief Society Meeting that precedes General Conference every year. It was as wonderful as always. Full of words of wisdom from our leaders, full of beautiful, heavenly music, and full of wise words from our Prophet. President Monson gave a wonderful talk you can find here. I could not help but feeling a little bit called to repentance while also feeling encouraged and loved. Isn’t that what is so wonderful about having a living Prophet? My favorite part of his talk was when he quoted Mother Theresa in saying, “If you judge people, … Continue reading

Primary Power

My sweet daughter participated in her first primary program this past week. Lovely. I was so excited. She is such a sweet little girl, and being a Sunbeam is a special time. They are just so excited about everything, and not jaded. You know, like the older 10-year-old girls who are just itching to get to Young Women. But, that is a long way away, so luckily, I can just focus on the present and enjoying her excitement for participating in her first program. But, I was shocked when she was given her part. It was 3 lines!!! Doesn’t that … Continue reading
