Galbraith and Stephen W. Liddle, have created an online citation database that links scriptures to Conference talks. Yesterday, I suggested that you work on memorizing (or rememorizing) the scripture mastery verses. You may have asked, why? What is the purpose of memorizing scriptures? I would recommend everyone, from the youth down to retired folks, take the time to memorize some scripture. These verses can come in very handy. We know that the Lord speaks to us through scriptures. In his talk “How Firm a Foundation” President Thomas S Monson speaks about the need to develop a deep and lasting faith. He begins by sharing an analogy about the building of wards. He learned that the roads in Western Canada are built on a foundation that is much deeper than most roads. So the roads can withstand weather that would cause other roads to buckle and crack. Sunday Student Preparation

Sunday morning, my Relief Society instructor announced somewhat sheepishly that she had prepared her lesson the night before. She then proceeded to read from the Teachings of the Presidents manual. I prepared myself for a long, boring lesson that I wouldn’t take much from. To my surprise, the class was great, and I wound up making more notes in my manual than I had by studying on my own.
