But I Don’t Have Visions

Earlier, I posted the Joseph Smith lesson from a week ago, entitled “Personal Revelation.” One sentence in this lesson really struck me. I quote: No man can receive the Holy Ghost without receiving revelations. The Holy Ghost is a revelator. – Joseph Smith I stopped to ponder that for a moment. Gospel Questions—Why Do We Have the Doctrine and Covenants?

My nonmember friend asked me: Why does every Prophet change or add to the rules? I thought everything I needed to know was in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, but then I found out about the Doctrine and Covenants. That’s a BIG book of additional teachings. We’ve all read the cute little stories in The Friend about the boy who lost his dime, said a prayer, and found it, right?
