Every year at the beginning of May BYU puts on a Women's Conference. It is a short two-day conference that takes place on campus. This year the conference is April 20 and May 1, 2009. Additionally there are service projects that you can participate in while you attend the conference. This year the projects will be set up in rooms where you can also watch different class presentations while you serve.

This conference has many presentations that focus on living the gospel and helping your family. The presentations are always uplifting and may offer spiritual insight into doctrine or they may offer tips on ways to incorporate the gospel teachings into your life. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from with three sessions each day and sixteen different classes each session. Additionally each day there is a keynote opening and closing speaker. This year there are classes offered in Spanish as well.

If you do not live in Utah, and cannot afford to travel, BYU broadcasting will be broadcast select sessions of the conference on May 14, and May 15. These may be available to watch at your local ward building or on BYUTV. You can also watch them through streaming on the Internet. This is a great way to participate if you are unable to attend.

This year nursing infants and other small children are not allowed to attend the conference. You have the option of staying in on campus housing. The rates are reasonable, but you should act quickly since space fills up quickly. You can register in advance online or at the door to attend the conference.

As a Relief Society enrichment leader you may choose one or two of the talks and organize a service project to work on while you watch the talks together. This can help to create the same sense of community that you can get from attending the conference, but at home with your sisters.
