Articles of Faith Series: The First Article

The Prophet Joseph Smith wrote the Articles of Faith to be a summary of the beliefs of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and to this day, we turn to those Articles to teach the rudiments of the gospel to those curious. Our Primary children are asked to memorize them as part of receiving their Faith in God award, and we often quote them in our Church lessons. Primary Time: Goals for Primary Children

It is important to encourage your Primary children to set goals for themselves. You can do this through the Achievement Days program as well as Cub Scouts, but you may also want to extend it to your family life. While it is important to teach your children the habit of goal setting, it is important that you help them to learn to succeed. Study the Articles of Faith

Do you know the Articles of Faith? In Primary we are encouraged to memorize the Articles of Faith in order to learn the Faith in God awards. Although I did memorize each Article of Faith when I was a child, I feel that I failed to grasp the entire meaning of these powerful statements. I didn’t appreciate that they answered questions that so many people struggle with nor did I fully understand what each one meant. A Beautiful Family Home Evening

We do Family Home Evening whenever our schedule allows us. We most often do it on my husband’s day off, and with his work shift changing periodically, sometimes we’ll meet together on Sunday, or Tuesday, or Friday – just whenever we can work it in peacefully.
