Writing a Primary Program

This weekend was such a great weekend for many reasons. Mainly because it was general conference weekend, and I got to hear some great, spiritually uplifting talks which I will blog more about later. But, I also love the weekend that I get to just hang out all day at home with my family and relax a little from the stress of callings, and making sure everyone gets up and gets to church on time. Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 41

This week’s dinner discussions are based on lesson 41in the manual for Senior Primary and older. The Junior Primary lessons are based on lesson 40. You may need to adjust your schedule according to your ward’s individual schedule. The sharing time theme for the month is gratitude. Primary Time: November 2007 Sharing Time Theme

The Sharing Time theme for November is “My faith in Jesus Christ blesses my life. I am thankful for my many blessings.” The scripture is Doctrine and Covenants 59:7: “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.” There is no specific song to teach this month, though you may want to work on Christmas carols as a family. The hymn “Because I Have Been Given Much” p 219 would be a good selection as well. The theme is broken down into four weekly principles. Primary Time: November Sharing Time Theme

The theme for November sharing time is “Magnificent Promises.” This is a wonderful theme to have the month of November, because it focuses a great deal on gratitude. The theme focuses on the promises of eternal families and the chance that we have to live with our Heavenly Father again, because of the Atonement of Christ. You may want to share scriptural accounts of promises that the Lord made to his people, and how they were fulfilled as they were righteous.
