LDS Week in Review June 30th-July 5th

Thank you for joining us as we take a look back at the past week. You'll want to visit "Dinner Discussions" to see what your family members are studying at church, and you won't want to miss the First Presidency Message or the Visiting Teaching Message, either, which will help you with your home teaching and visiting teaching assignments.

The Church has a wonderful program which circulates through the wards and stakes every couple of years to teach about the policy on adoption for unwed mothers. You can read more about it here.

We started a new series on the Articles of Faith. You can click here to read thoughts on the first article, the second article, and the third.

Does your ward have an "Annual 4th of July Ward Breakfast?" Miriam shares ideas for how to make this holiday a special one for you and your ward family members.

Our teenagers certainly do face a whole bunch of challenges we never had to. In "Dealing with Media Influences," we learn how the media can affect our youth and ways they can deal with the negativity they encounter.

"Honoring Each Other" reminds us of the sanctity of marriage and the importance of honoring and respecting our mates.

"Organizing a Book Club Enrichment Group" is a fun way to get to know other ladies in your ward and to be introduced to good books at the same time.

Sometimes, promptings come at inconvenient times. In "Finding Time to Follow Promptings," we read about the importance of taking that moment to follow up on the nudge we're being given and how much it will bless us.

"Family Home Evening: Family Reunions" shares the idea that while we're all busy with family reunions this summer, we might hold a special family home evening to share genealogy stories with our loved ones.

"Dealing with Food Storage" encourages us to keep adding to our food storage, even though recent difficulties may make it harder to do so.

As members of the Church, we don't believe in psychics, and we don't need them, anyway. In "We Have No Need for Fortune Tellers," we are reminded that we have the ability to receive comfort about our futures through the Holy Ghost.

We ended up the week with "Balancing Your Needs and Your Family's Needs," a topic every young mother should revisit.
