LDS Gems

Lately, when I have been visiting the church's website, LDS.org, I've really been enjoying the daily quote that is listed in the upper right hand corner. I always make sure to read it, because it gives me something to think about. It also gives me a spiritual boost. Well today I actually clicked on it, and I realized that I could sign up for it be sent to me. The service is called LDS gems.

Well I went ahead and signed up. The service will provide one to three messages a day. The messages will be things of worth-which is why they named the service LDS gems. Here is an explanation for the name that I received in the email:

"WHY THE NAME LDS-GEMS? ---------------------- A "gem" is something valuable, something to treasure. It's rare and uncommon. We expect the posts to this list to be like that - not too many of them, and carefully prepared or selected, with an emphasis on positive support of the principles of the Gospel as taught in the scriptures and teachings of the prophets. "The mind must not only possess a knowledge of truth, but the soul must revere it, cherish it, love it as a priceless gem." (Joseph F. Smith, "Gospel Doctrine", p. 269)"

I remember signing up for the LDS Gems service (which was not offered by the church) and I really enjoyed it at the beginning, but I found that I couldn't keep up with the information that they were emailing me. I can handle three uplifting emails a day however. If you want a little pick me up, delivered to your inbox, you can sign up by clicking here.

It is easy to sign up for the service. After you sign up, they will send you a confirmation message that you need to reply to within seventy-two hours. You will begin receiving messages after that. It is an easy way to receive some inspirational thoughts, and news about the church.
