New Website on Christ

The church has a new website entirely devoted to Jesus Christ. This website shares the testimonies of the apostles and prophets about the divinity of Christ and His mission on the earth. The site is full of beautiful paintings of Christ and his ministry on the Earth. It is a beautifully designed site. There are four sections on the website. The first is “Faith in Jesus Christ”. One hundred and sixty-three years ago today, Joseph Smith and his brother, Hyrum, were shot and killed in jail in Carthage Jail at Carthage, Illinois. Willard Richards and future prophet John Taylor were with them. Taylor was wounded, while Richards escaped harm. I cannot express in adequate words the events of that day, and so I will not try. Mormon Channel Radio Station

There is a new Mormon Channel radio station that you can listen to. You can find the station on the Internet at radio.lds.org. You can also find it wherever there is a Bonneville Communications group in your area. You can stream the station on your computer. There is also the option to download specific programs as podcasts. Currently the programming consists of a mixture of programs created for the station as well as rebroadcasts of conference talks, firesides and devotionals from BYU. 2009 Church Lesson Schedule

Each year the church changes the curriculum that is being taught for the various organizations. It is done on a rotating basis so that we cover all books of scripture in Gospel Doctrine every four years. The Primary goes through a similar rotation schedule as well. Additionally the youth theme and Primary theme changes each year. This year the adults will be studying Church History this year in Gospel Doctrine. Elder Ballard encouraged us to use the Internet as a way to spread the gospel.
