General Conference: “Salt Lake Tabernacle Rededication”

In his talk “Salt Lake Tabernacle Dedication” President James E Faust speaks of the events leading up to the building of the tabernacle. He points out that only two buildings that were built for worship up to that point were the Kirtland and Nauvoo temples. He goes on to say that the one church building they did build was also used as a schoolhouse. President Faust speaks of the meetings that the saints had in Nauvoo and Kirtland. In his talk “Prophets—Pioneer and Modern Day” Elder Earl C Tingey talks about Brigham Young and President Gordon B Hinckley. He lists their accomplishments as well as comparing them to each other. The talk focuses on how the Lord blesses his prophets and the people of the church. Elder Tingey begins by speaking about Brigham Young. He lists several accomplishments of Brigham Young.
