In his talk "He Heals the Heavy Laden" Elder Dallin H Oaks speaks about Christ can help lift the burdens that you are carrying. Elder Oaks speaks of the many different burdens that each person may be carrying. It may be that you have a spiritual or emotional burden, or you may have a physical burden. It does not matter what type of burden you are carrying the Lord can help you with it.

Elder Oaks shared examples of Christ healing people in the New Testament. He also shared the story of Christ healing people in the Americas. He shares the story of how Christ asked for all those who needed healing to come forward, and he healed them.

Elder Oaks goes on to say that Christ knows us and our anguish. He will be there with us as we suffer through trials and help to carry our burden. Elder Oaks then speaks about the power of the priesthood. That through faith we may be healed of many afflictions according to the will of the Lord. Elder Oaks points out that sometimes our burdens are lifted or our afflictions are healed, but at other times we are given the strength and patience to bear the burdens. He says:

"At times we may despair that our burdens are too great. When it seems that a tempest is raging in our lives, we may feel abandoned and cry out like the disciples in the storm, 'Master, carest thou not that we perish?' (Mark 4:38). At such times we should remember His reply: 'Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?' (v. 40).

"The healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ-whether it removes our burdens or strengthens us to endure and live with them like the Apostle Paul-is available for every affliction in mortality."

Elder Oaks goes on to share examples of people who have relied on Christ to overcome the burdens that they have to carry. He stresses the importance of relying on the Atonement to help you through these trials. Christ has suffered for each of us, and his pain and anguish were much more than we will ever feel. He understands the struggles you are facing.

This is a truly inspirational talk. It offers comfort to those who are in the midst of trials. Elder Oaks gives advice on how to draw closer to the Savior so that your trials can be lifted. I hope that you will take the time to read this wonderful talk.
