Yesterday, we spoke somewhat concerning the scriptures that Christ cited as He walked with His disciples. Today, I would like to talk a bit about the result of those scriptures, and the testimony of the Holy Ghost. Following His resurrection, Jesus met two of His disciples on the road to Emmaus. In John 16, we learn a little bit about the mission of the Holy Ghost. In verse 8, we are told that “he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” Then, in verse 13, we read that “he will guide you in all truth…and he will shew you all things to come.” From these verses, we learn a little bit about the role of the Spirit in our lives. LDS Family Week in Review: June 3-9

This week, we covered topics ranging from postpartum depression to ways to keep our youth busy over the lazy, hazy summer days. And, believe it or not, we actually had a full week of Gospel Doctrine and Relief Society lesson blogs! All in all, it’s been an interesting week! In October 1991, Elder Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve gave a talk entitled “Reverence Invites Revelation.” He speaks of the need for reverent behavior and how such quiet can usher in the delicate promptings of the Holy Spirit. Elder Packer begins by warning those who seek to study the gospel from an intellectual perspective only. The promptings of the spirit do not come by intellect alone, but by feeling.
