In Relief Society this past Sunday, our Relief Society President announced our ward’s theme for 2011. “Find the Joy”. Making Faith Your Focus

In these difficult times it is especially hard to let go of your worries and put your trust in the Lord. One of the most difficult things to do is to let go of the worries that assail us as we deal with difficult circumstances and personal trials. As I look back on my life, I find that there are times full of peace and happiness and times when life wasn’t happy or at all peaceful. Wisdom from Proverbs

The speaker in Proverbs 3 tells his son there is a two fold benefit of obeying his commandments and teaching and that ‘is length of days and years of life, And peace they will add to you,’ verse 2. It appears this verse refers back to one of the Ten Commandments, exodus 20:12. Verses 5 and 7 of Exodus 20 have warnings attached but Exodus 20:12 is the only one with a promise attached.
