Finding Hope in Difficult Times

When you are faced with difficult times, it can be difficult to find the motivation to keep moving forward. It can seem as though you have been abandoned or that your prayers are not being heard. Hope is an essential part of the gospel. It gives us the strength we need to continue forward on a daily basis. It gives us a glimpse of the future and a something to strive for. So how do we find hope in difficult times?

It is important that hope comes as we put our trust in the Lord and have faith that He is watching over our lives. As we trust that we will not be abandoned, we find that hope. We can look to past trials and experiences to help us remember that the Lord did not abandon us then, but that we were helped through that trial. It can also help to look outside of ourselves and reach out to help others. This can bring us peace, which in turn helps us to find hope.

Hope can also be found when we focus on the bigger picture. If we remember that we were sent to Earth for a reason, and that we have a purpose while we are here, it can bring a greater sense of purpose and peace to our lives. Realizing and remembering that we are Heavenly Father's children and that He loves us can also help us to realize that these difficult times will not last forever. It can also help us put our trials in perspective.

Having faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ is also essential in finding hope. Through his Atonement we have the chance to return to live with Him again. Additionally we know that the Savior understands the pain and despair that we feel throughout our lives. This can bring us comfort and a greater sense of peace and hope as we face the difficult times around us.
