Dinner Discussions Week 46by Miriam Caldwell | More from this Blogger 11 Dec 2006 09:51 PM This week the dinner discussions are based on lesson forty-six. The Primary manuals have finished up the lessons for the year, although they do have a Christmas lesson planned, which will likely be taught on Christmas Eve. You may want to check with your children's teacher or ask your children to share something that they learned in Primary. My four-year-old forgets as soon as I pick her up. You may also want to extend the discussion to cover what you talked about in family home evening or scripture study as well. The twelve and thirteen year old Sunday school did not have a lesson in the manual as well. For all members over the age of fourteen the lesson was based on Daniel 2. This chapter discusses the restoration of the gospel in the latter-days. It describes the kingdoms of men being destroyed by a stone "which was cut without hands." Revelation has shown us that this refers to the gospel and the restored church. The class discussed the blessings of the gospel, and what we can do to share it with others. The young women learned about the important of receiving education. The young men learned about decision making. The lesson in Relief Society and Priesthood was about the importance of being united in the gospel. It focused on being of one heart and one mind. If you are unsure of what else you can discuss at dinner, but would like to keep the spiritual discussion going, you can have each family member choose a favorite scripture to share. You can draw a name out of the jar and that person will lead the discussion for the night. This is also a great time to share your stories from growing up or stories from your family history. Remember to keep the discussions upbeat and positive. Related Articles: Dinner Discussions Week 45 Learn more about Miriam Caldwell ![]() Miriam is a SAHM mom of three children.
