This week the dinner discussions are based on lesson 43 from the manuals. Dinner discussions are meant to reinforce the gospel principles that your children learn at home in a positive manner. It is important to make the discussions as positive as possible, so that they will be effective. You may need to adjust the lessons according to your ward's schedule.

If you have a child in nursery or Sunbeams she learned that we have a living prophet today. They learned the story of Samuel and Eli. They also discussed the ways that we are blessed when we follow the prophet. The lesson discussed how people in the Old Testament were blessed when they followed the prophet.

If you have a child between the ages of four and seven he learned that Jesus Christ will return to the Earth again. They discussed the way that he would return and what it would be like after He comes. They also discussed the importance of preparing for His return.

If you have a child between the ages of eight and eleven she learned about Jonah and the people of Nineveh. They discussed the importance of repentance and how it can affect your life. They also discussed the negative effects of sin. The reading assignment for the week is Jonah 1:1-3, 11-17, Jonah 2:1-2, 10 and Jonah 3:3-5, 10.

If you have a child who is twelve or thirteen, he learned about the importance of being friends with his brothers and sisters. The lesson focused on the benefits of having a positive relationship with your siblings. It also discussed ways that you can work on building a relationship with your family members.

For all members over the age of fourteen the Sunday school lesson was taught from Ezekiel. The discussion talked about the responsibilities that we have as shepherds of the gospel. It also talked about the importance of repentance and righteous living. The lesson also discussed Ezekiel's vision of the valley of the bones, which is symbolic of both the resurrection, and the restoration of Israel to the Promised Land. It also discussed the stick of Judah and the stick of Joseph.

The young women learned about righteous living and how it affects their self worth. They young men learned about the tools available to them when they are studying the scriptures. Relief Society and Priesthood discussed the importance of spiritual and temporal work. This was lesson twenty-two in the Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Wilford Woodruff.

Wow, I love the formatting here! What a wonderful resource to figure out what all of my kids are learning! Trying to determine that has always made me nuts. Thanks for putting it all in one place!

Thanks! I hope that a simple outline will make it easier for everyone to reinforce the lessons at home. It is also a great chance to answer any questions that your children may have!
