LDS Week in Review: December 31st-January 5th

Did the New Year keep you from joining us here on Families.com? If so, we can catch you up to speed. Miriam finished up the year’s Dinner Discussions, and Tristi continued the Gospel Questions series with the Word of Wisdom. We took another look at the lessons of Spencer W. Kimball in “The Sabbath: A Delight,” which taught us that as we learn to keep the Sabbath day holy, we demonstrate to God the depth of our willingness to be obedient. In “Fishers of Men: What Are Our Nets?” we discussed the way we try to share the gospel with … Continue reading

Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 52

This last week was an interesting one, since all of the manuals had finished up. This means that the teachers chose the lesson topic. Additionally it was a fifth Sunday so each bishop chose the lesson for the Relief Society Priesthood lessons. You may simply want to talk to your family and ask them what their lessons were about. You may consider talking a little bit about the Book of Mormon, since we will begin studying it in Sunday School next week. You can talk about the translation of the Book of Mormon and share stories of how the Book … Continue reading

Primary Time: November 2007 Sharing Time Theme

The Sharing Time theme for November is “My faith in Jesus Christ blesses my life. I am thankful for my many blessings.” The scripture is Doctrine and Covenants 59:7: “Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.” There is no specific song to teach this month, though you may want to work on Christmas carols as a family. The hymn “Because I Have Been Given Much” p 219 would be a good selection as well. The theme is broken down into four weekly principles. The first principle focuses on being thankful for your home and family. The second … Continue reading
