Since school is fast approaching that means the start of seminary. For those of you who live outside of Utah, this mean early morning seminary. It is a wonderful experience for everyone involved, but the early mornings can be difficult for both the students and the parents who drive those students.

A great resource to have in your home is "True to the Faith: A Gospel Reference." This was published by the church in 2004 and given out to the youth as a way to answer questions that they may be having. It is also specifically designed with new converts in mind.

I decided to ask my husband, who is a former Scoutmaster, for one piece of advice that he would give to parents that have a new Boy Scout in their family. He told me to tell you to go and buy the "Boy Scout Requirements" book that is available at a Boy Scout distribution center.

At the Young Women's session of General Conference, Julie B. Beck spoke about patriarchal blessings. Her talk was titled, "You Have A Noble Birthright." Sister Beck spoke about the light that she has seen in the faces of the young women as she has traveled the world.

I wanted to remind you of the great opportunities available at EFY and other BYU summer camps. It may be a little late to register for some of the programs, but the experience is worth looking into. I am sure that many of you have fond memories of attending EFY or another program that BYU offers.
