A Review of "Book of Mormon Jungle Journey"by Miriam Caldwell | More from this Blogger 21 Jul 2006 12:17 PM "Book of Mormon Jungle Journey" is a fun game for the whole family. The play is similar to "Chutes and Ladders" in the fact that there are many short cuts with paths, and slides, which will take you backwards along the path. Each short cut is the result of following the good advice of a Book of Mormon leader. Each slide backwards is a result of following the advice of a wicked leader. To play the game you simply roll the dice and move along. Along the way you have the opportunity to collect and use Jungle Journey cards. These cards include things such moving forwards and backwards. It adds a level of interest and excitement to have the cards in addition to the game. If you are playing with young children you do not need to use the Jungle Journey cards. One nice thing about this game is that it includes six game pieces instead of the usual four. This makes allowances for the larger families that will likely play the game. The game play is not too long, and does not seem to drag on. The board is not as long as a lot of games, which are intended for the same age of player. The game recommends that players be ages 4 and up. My daughter and I first played the game when she was about two years old. She did great. The game play isn't complicated, and it allowed her to practice counting. It also gave her an opportunity to understand the different rules involved in games. I would supervise game play with younger children as the game pieces are fairly small and can be swallowed. I recommend this game for families. I think it would be a great game to play at the end of family home evening. It has a nice gospel twist along with the fun of a simple game.
