Today, I am getting a new calling in our ward. I started to wonder if I would be left out of all the initial callings in our ward because it has been several weeks since our new ward got organized. A Brand New Ward

Since our ward got reorganized, it feels like we are in a brand new ward. Sure, I see a lot of the familiar faces of those in our previous ward, but the sheer number of people we have now compared to the tiny branch-like ward we had before makes it seem overwhelming. RootsTech 2013 will be doing something brand new. They are having a “Developer Day”. It will take place on March 22, 2012. Genealogy and technology have combined in many ways, and RootsTech provides a collaborative environment for both genealogists and the developers of the technology that genealogists use. Branded Kids

Last week: “Mommy, life is a fajita.” Last night: “Actually, Mommy, life is not a fajita; it’s a pulled pork sandwich.” Thanks, McCormick. My 8-year-old is not allowed to watch more than an hour of TV per day, but clearly that hasn’t stopped her from being sucked in by marketers hawking prepackaged spice mixtures. Disney Launches New Baby Store

Disney really is after what it thinks is the hottest new market: infants. They’re negotiating to have a presence in maternity wards and creating advice and social networking sites aimed at new and expecting parents, and now they’re opening stores specifically for their Disney Baby brand. To avoid confusion: the Disney Baby brand is not a line of Disney products featuring child versions of its characters, but sets of clothing, supplies, toys, and more, all for infants. Remember Our365? I don’t expect you do. Almost a year ago I posted about how Disney had teamed up with the organization that helps companies market to expectant parents. Our365 can actually get its partner companies’ representatives into maternity wards to try to sell their wares. For all I know either the company or its partnership is now defunct.
